An epic adventure will unfold as an outcast from a collapsing cartoon world entire of dragons meets a misfit from the “real world” in Dragons of Wonderhatch, a revolutionary new Japanese Original series premiering exclusively on Disney+ on December 20.

Nagi, who was born in our “real world” with sound-color synesthesia (the ability to perceive colors in response to specific sounds), has felt out of place her entire existence. Nagi, who aspires to attain the ability to fly one day, will soon encounter Thaim, an additional outcast from an alternate realm. Thaim, an indigenous of Upananta, has endured a protracted social exclusion due to his incapacity to perceive the communications of the animate dragons that reside within his realm.

In Dragons of Wonderhatch, which will be available exclusively on Disney+ in December, the two misfits will embark on an epic journey encompassing both live-action and anime universes as the floating islands of Upananta gradually begin to descend from the sky.

Dragons of Wonderhatch, which is produced by Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell), features remarkable artwork by renowned art director Chie Morimoto and stars Sena Nakajima (We Are Little Zombies) as “real world” high school student Nagi, Daiken Okudaira (Nemesis, Mother) as Thaim, a dragon rider from Upananta, and Mackenyu (One Piece) as dragon rider hero Aktha, is directed by live-action director Kentaro Hagiwara and animation director Takashi Otsuka, and is produced by Production I.G.
